DEDDINGTON were crowned champions in the Tag Rugby Festival at Gosford All Blacks RFC – after doing their own version of the haka.

They pipped Edward Feild, Kidlington 5-4 on tries in an exciting decider to the tournament for under 10s and under 11s.

Not to be outdone Edward Feild also gave their own rendition of the haka – the traditional ancestral war dance performed by the New Zealand team.

Ten schools took part and they will all go forward to the Chairman’s Cup competition next year, with Deddington and Edward Feild booking their places in Group A.

The other schools involved were Bure Park (Bicester), Harriers Ground (Banbury), Launton, Dr Radcliffe’s (Steeple Aston), North Kidlington, Kings Meadow (Bicester), Hill View (Banbury) and Longfields (Bicester).
