CHINNOR bid to stretch their stunning start to the season to ten straight wins when they visit Barnstaple in National 3 South West tomorrow.

Jason Bowers’s side have been a revelation this season, reeling off nine back-to-back victories to stand second in the table behind Bourne-mouth, who have emulated their feat.

After a week off, Bowers names an unchanged squad from the one which racked up win No 9 a fortnight ago when they beat Amersham & Chiltern 39-16.

Oxford Harlequins director of rugby John Brodley is hoping the two weeks’ break will help his side bounce back to winning ways as they visit Bristol club Old Redcliffians.

In their last outing, Quins were hammered 65-10 at Weston-super-Mare – ending the game with 14 men due to injuries.

But Brodley reported that they had regrouped.

He said: “From our point of view we are going there knowing that we need to start putting some wins together.

“The squad is determined to try and do that and has worked hard over the past two weeks.”

Wing Xavier Andre misses Henley Hawks’ trip to Lydney in National 2 South with a pulled hamstring.

He picked up the injury in last week’s 21-15 defeat at Southend, and is replaced by the experienced Neil Baggett.

Scrum half James Gaunt, who was unavailable last week, returns in place of Mickey Molloy.

James Winterbottom or Stuart McLean, back from duty overseas, will partner Charlie Nixon at lock, while Rupert Crossland is injured, so Jamie Sutton will start at wing forward for the first time.

Lock forward Scott Mortimer comes into the second row alongside Rich Haire for Witney’s trip to Cheltenham in South West 1 East.

Witney are chasing a third successive win after victories over Reading Abbey and Reading.
