Banbury United skipper Liam Dolman is set to end his six-week injury nightmare when they host Bedworth in the first round of the Red Insure Cup on Tuesday.

Dolman hasn’t played since suffering a broken metatarsal in their Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division clash against Hemel Hempstead Town on September 3.

But manager Ady Fuller said Dolman could play some part in tonight’s game.

“It’s big news for us,” said Fuller, whose side are unbeaten in their last five outings.

“He looks sharp and we may give him 20 minutes.

“We have missed his experience at the back.

“One thing we haven’t been doing, in defence, is getting the basics right.

“I wasn’t very happy about the result on Saturday (they dew 1-1 with Swindon Supermarine).

“We defended poorly and we have to stop doing it.

“So when he comes back in he will make sure we do that. We are lacking a leader in the team and having him back will help us.”

Martin Hutchcox (swollen knee) and Joe Coleman (ankle) face late fitness tests, though Nick Kingston is back after a ban.

Banbury Utd (v Bedworth, home): Kemp, Williams, Polk, Bailey, Kinch, Hutchcox, Howell, Coleman, Green, Edmond, Woodley, Cole, Stanbridge, Walker, Thackeray, Dolman.

North Leigh travel to Aylesbury in the same competition.
