Witney produced a fine display to win 39-10 at Reading Abbey for their first success in five South West 1 East matches.

Abbey took the lead with a penalty from full back Jack Parsons, but Witney hit back with three penalties from their fly half Pierre Dubost.

Wing Henry Lamb made good ground before setting up flanker Carl Campbell, who sprinted in for the opening try, Dubost converting.

Abbey had centre Arron Ross sin-binned for a high tackle, then centre Tom Harper’s try gave Witney a 23-3 half-time lead.

The hosts gave themselves hope with a try and conversion from Parsons.

Captain Jez Hicks kept driving Witney on and they soon added a penalty from replacement Ed Mitcham.

Wing Lewis Collins weaved his way past four tackles for a third try, which Mitcham converted.

Harper completed a dominant victory with two drop goals.
