Chipping Norton teenager Alice Powell will be looking to reclaim sixth spot in the standings when the final rounds of the Formula Renault UK Championship take place at Silverstone tomorrow.
The 18-year-old slipped to seventh after a disappointing showing at Brands Hatch.
But she is only two points behind Josh Hill, with Alex Lynn still leading the way.
Powell, who has only been able to complete the series with financial backing from Shropshire-based motorsport fan Roger Eaton, said: “I just need to stay calm and focused to try and get a better result at Silverstone.”
Chipping Norton’s Fergus Walkinshaw will be on familiar territory for the final rounds of the Michelin Ginetta GT Supercup at Silverstone tomorrow.
The 20-year-old Oxford Brookes University student is an instructor at the Silverstone Racing School.
And he’ll be hoping to put his knowledge of the track to good use as he bids to bounce back from a disappointment display at Brands Hatch.
He said: “I have been around the circuit quite a few times and I held the Ginetta Junior lap record, so I’m really looking forward to returning to my home circuit.”
