TEVITA Vaikona could not really have a bigger match to begin his career as Oxford Harlequins head coach than tomorrow’s National 3 South West derby at Chinnor.

And the Tongan, who took up the post this week to work alongside director of rugby John Brodley, is already familiar with what is at stake.

“What a start,” he said. “I have got to know their head coach Jason Bowers very well in the last couple of months.

“Chinnor are a very well drilled side. I don’t expect anything different in this game.

“In my experience, derbies are all about passion and that is what I am expecting on Saturday.”

Quins make one change, with Harry Warman replacing Andy Noyce (knee injury) on the left wing.

Fly half Alex Stevenson continues his partnership with Alex Sage, while back-row forward Julian Watkins comes in on the bench.

“We are very pleased to be picking from strength for the first time this season,” said Brodley.

Chinnor add backs Richard Williams and Sam Stoop, plus flanker Nick Harrison to the squad.

Bowers said: “We are considering some tactical changes.

“Regardless of current league status, the derby game is always a fantastic leveller.

“We won three out of three against Quins last season and hope that can continue.”

Centre Ali James comes in for Henley Hawks’ crunch National 2 South clash with Worthing at Dry Leas.

With both teams having 100 per cent records, this will be a major test of Hawks’ promotion credentials.

James replaces Alex Cheesman, who could feature in Wasps’ LV= Cup clash at Worcester.

Hooker Ant Brennan and prop Jim Hadfield come in for Will Bigley and Alex Penny, while Ryan Long starts at blindside flanker.

Wing/centre Xavier Andre is on the bench after recovering from injury.

Fly half Pierre Dubost, prop Matt Calley and lock Marc Copperwheat comes into the Witney side as they host South West 1 East leaders Coney Hill, who have bagged 30 points out of 30.

Centre Joe Collins returns on the bench.

Bicester have named an unchanged team for their Oxfordshire Shield first round tie at Chipping Norton.

Tom Hammond and Dave Behan come in on the bench.
