John McMahon scored a hat-trick for Oxford Irish as they moved within a point of Oxfordshire Senior League Premier Division leaders Adderbury Park with an 8-1 hammering of second-placed Oxford University Press.

He scored his first from close range, with Mark Scanes doubling their tally.

After the break, McMahon made it 3-0, before Neil Lockhart clawed one back from the penalty spot, only for Neil McMahon to slot in No 4.

McMahon completed his treble when he lobbed the keeper, before Piers McGlynn bagged a brace and Tom Gaughan sealed it.

Ten-man Adderbury maintained their lead with a 2-0 victory at Bletchingdon.

They went ahead when Dave Seeney’s 25-yard strike found the top corner, but were reduced to ten men when Guy Andrews was sent off.

Bletchingdon had a chance to level when substitute Joey Beauchamp was fouled, but keeper Charlie Wright tipped Shaun Jacquet’s spot-kick over.

Victory was sealed with a cracking free-kick from 35 yards from Mark Essex.

Desmond Wayne smashed a four-timer for Garsington in a 6-1 victory at basement boys Launton Sports.

Mark Barrett scored from a tight angle, before a Desmond double, the second a 20-yard cracker, made it 3-0.

Sports pulled one back, before Desmond completed his four-goal haul with Touran Okisanya hitting No 6.

Goals from Luke Bremner, Jelroy Constant, Sean Flaherty and Marlon James earned Hinksey a 4-0 victory at Freeland.

Steven Gardiner and Anthony Davidson were on target for Charlton United in a 2-1 home victory against Yarnton in Division 1.
