ADAM White scored two tries as Alchester gained their first victory of the season with a 35-14 success over Tadley.

Tadley took the lead with a converted try, but Alchester centre Tom Miles replied witth a penalty.

On 26 minutes, White broke from Tadley’s ten-metre line to score his first try, which Miles converted.

A lovely jinking run earned White his second, but Tadley caught Alchester napping with a converted try.

Wing Andy Blacklock snaffled a loose ball to score Alchester’s third try, Miles converting.

After the break, Tadley had their lock sin-binned, with Miles slotting the penalty for 25-15.

Another Miles penalty was followed by the bonus-point try from Matt Flegg, which Miles converted.

Alchester scrum half Luke Kimber was sin-binned late on.

An injury and absentee-hit Grove were knocked off top spot after a disappointing 29-10 defeat at Windsor.

Despite this, Grove led against the run of play with an interception try from wing Harry Carr, converted by fly half Nick Sevier.

Windsor were on top, but managed only a penalty and a try.

Grove began the second period strongly, but fell further behind to a converted try.

A long-range Sevier penalty gave Grove hope.

However, they kept making errors, with Windsor punishing them by scoring two more converted tries.

Wallingford collected their first point of the season in a 10-5 home defeat to Wootton Bassett.

The hosts saw fly half Henry Venners pull up injured in the warm-up, but welcomed back front-rowers Kris Blaszko, Tom Hill and Anthony Marris, plus skipper Pete Holton.

Wallingford, who also gave a debut to flanker Matt Ebbs, saw their best first-half chance end when openside Rich Bowers knocked on just yards from the line.

The hosts went close when Blaszko couldn’t quite find Holton, but took the lead when wing Glenn Dearlove squeezed over in the corner.

Having used their two fit substitutes, Venners hobbled on to replace scrum half Derek Viljoen, who went off after a kick to the head.

Bassett levelled with a try out wide and took the lead with an expert conversion.

Backchat cost Wallingford a penalty, which Bassett converted, while home No 8 Ian Jeffreys threatened with a great run.
