BB&O Round-up

DAVE Hampton ran in four tries as Bicester routed Phoenix 60-24 in the Premier Division.

Scrum half Craig Smith’s try started the romp with the opening try, No 8 Dan Spencer kicking the first of five conversions.

Centres Hampton and Dom Southey, plus wing Jak Cluness crossed over before the break. Tries from Hampton and fly half Adam Spencer made it 38-0.

Phoenix rallied with tries from Tim Morgan, Allen Carey, Jonny Winters and James Richardson, Will Ballentyne converting two.

In between, Hampton and hooker Gareth Evans crossed over before Hampton and wing Dave Aslett finished the thrashing, with Dan Spencer converting the lattter.

Gosford All Blacks showed good fighting spirit in a 42-3 defeat at leaders Thatcham.

Tim Ellis kicked a penalty for Gosford, but tries from Tom Allen (3), Mark Smith (2), Dan Tingle, Luke Evans and James Evans, plus a Toby Littlechild conversion, wrapped it up for Thatcham.

Harwell remain unbeaten after a 50-12 victory over Faringdon in the Championship.

A first half, which included a long delay due to a bad injury to Faringdon lock Tom Devos, saw Harwell score tries through Jamie Cantwell, skipper Carl Tappin, Aidan Robbins and Dave Paton.

Dave Beaven kicked three conversions and added a further two after the break following scores from Joe Pigott (2), Rob Douglas and Beaven himself.

Greg Arthy, Mark Rumble and Will Thom bagged tries and Paul Costello kicked two conversions as Didcot lost 30-19 to Kingsclere.
