North Leigh fell at the preliminary round stage of the FA Trophy, despite playing against ten men for the whole of the second half against Thatcham who won 1-0.
The Millers fell behind when defender Andy Caton fouled Thatcham’s Mark Hughes, and James Clarke made no mistake from the resultant penalty.
Five minutes later, Thatcham striker Sean Cook hit a speculative shot from distance that beat keeper Sam Warrell at his near post.
Just before half-time, Hughes was dismissed for a second caution.
North Leigh never tested the home keeper in the second half and to cap their woe, centre back James Organ received red card for a second caution ten minutes from time North Leigh: Warrell, Parish, Caton (Deabill 74), Osborne-Ricketts, Hole, Organ, Hopkins (Roberts 63), Sanders, McCabe, Burnell, Williams (Bowles 83). Subs not used: Flanagan, Mills.
Attendance: 100
