RIGHT winger Andy Haworth has set himself twin targets after joining Oxford United on a month’s loan from Bury.

The 22-year-old, who netted three times in 52 appearances for the Shakers, is aiming to both set up goals and get on the scoresheet during his spell at the Kassam Stadium.

Haworth, who comes into the squad for the npower League Two clash against Barnet at Underhill today, said: “I’m really looking forward to my time with Oxford United.

“I came down and went straight into training, which went well.

“I hope to be involved (at Barnet) and play my part. The club has fantastic facilities and a good reputation and I hope to be setting up some goals and getting on the score sheet.”

Haworth started his career with Blackburn Rovers, progressing through the youth system and making two first-team appearances, both against Sunderland.

His debut came when he started the 2-1 win against the Black Cats in the League Cup in November 2008, being substituted by Roque Santa Cruz after 62 minutes.

His only other appearance for Blackburn was in a goalless draw against Sunderland in the FA Cup in 2009 when he came on as a substitute after 56 minutes.

He had a six-game loan spell at Gateshead later in the year, and also spent seven games on loan at Rochdale the following season, before joining Bury on a free transfer in the summer of 2010.

United boss Chris Wilder has snapped up Haworth as he felt his squad was possibly one player short.

Meanwhile, the U’s manager is hoping for more of the same today when Oxford once again travel to London.

The U’s collected a deserved three points with a 1-0 win at Dagenham on Tuesday night, and return to the capital looking for a repeat show.

“Tuesday was not a performance where we won against the odds, it was well-merited,” Wilder said.

“It’s always nice to win away, and it makes the journey home a lot quicker and a lot better.

“Barnet will chuck things at us, and we are a scalp, so we have to make sure that we show the qualities we have done both on and off the ball.”

Wilder must decide whether to recall the well-again Andy Whing or stick with Damian Batt.

United will come up against one of their Wembley play-off final heroes as well as the division’s top scorer.

Sam Deering, who passed for Alfie Potter to score the third goal at Wembley is now plying his trade at Barnet.

And Izale McLeod has already bagged seven goals this season.

Barnet recorded only their second win of the season when they beat struggling Plymouth in midweek and could name an unchanged line-up, meaning Deering will have to make do with a place on the bench.
