OCA League Divisions 4-11

CHIPPING Norton beat Division 4 title rivals Hailey by five wickets to move within a whisker of the crown.

Adam Wallington claimed 4-21 as Hailey were shot out for 88, before Ian Widdows (35no) and Ben Tew (31) saw Chippy to 89-5.

Radley’s promotion hopes suffered a setback as they lost by 64 runs against Fringford.

The visitors posted 160 all out, Damian Leach hitting 44 not out.

In reply, Radley were skittled for 96 as Royston Blake (4-13) and John Bacon (4-27) shone.

Cairns Fudge saw their Division 5 title hopes dented with a five-wicket defeat at Horley 2nd.

Ralph Smith (75) and Hugh Anderson-Elliott (58) saw Fudge to 176 all out, while Horley’s David Beck returned figures of 7-63.

Sam Pearce (39) then led Horley’s reply as they reached 180-5.

Wantage closed the gap at the top with a 97-run win at Uffington.

Posting 175-7, Wantage then ripped through Uffington for 78, James Mabbett taking 3-10.

In Division 6, Wolvercote stretched their lead at the top with a four-wicket win at Stanton Harcourt.

Ollie Pascoe hit 83 not out in Stanton’s 128 all out, before Wolvercote reached 132-6.

Garsington 2nd moved up to second with an eight-wicket win over Chalgrove.

The visitors were restricted to 156-6, and then Neil Bound (70no) led Garsington to 158-2.

Hanney eased to an 82-run victory at home to Marsh Gibbon 2nd to close in on the Division 7 title.

After posting 203 all out, Hanney’s hero was James Hilliam, who claimed 5-22 as Marsh Gibbon were bowled out for 121.

Risinghurst were skittled out for a paltry 36 as they were beaten at Kings Sutton by 68 runs.

In Division 8, leaders Oxenford 2nd won a low-scoring clash with Chadlington 2nd by three runs.

Freddie Simon took 5-13 as Oxenford were dismissed for 91, only for Richard Rowley (6-23) to rip through Chadlington for 88.

Andy Smith (58) and Matthew Purbrick (55) shone in Sunningwell’s 128-run win at Marcham 2nd.

In Division 9, East Oxford 3rd virtually guaranteed the title with a four-wicket win at Chinnor.

Only Bampton can catch them, but they suffered a shock six-wicket defeat at Witney Swifts 2nd.

Radley 2nd clinched the Division 10 title with a 123-run win over Britwell Salome 2nd.

Marcus Sharman hit 95 in Radley’s 232-7, before Mark Alder (4-8) restricted Britwell to 109-9.
