SERIOUS CRICKET HOME COUNTIES PREMIER LEAGUE
Thame Town suffered back to back defeats as they lost narrowly to Harefield by 27 runs in Division 2 West.
The hosts inserted Harefield and things looked promising as spells from Sam Lachlan (3-73) and Jaydeep Bhatti (4-45) reduced them to 40-6.
But a good knock from Ollie Richards (49) helped steer the visitors to 140 all out in 56 overs.
In reply, Thame knew it was going to be difficult with a weakened batting line-up due to unavailability and were soon reduced to 24-5.
But Lachlan (29) and Pratik Patel (45) brought Thame back into the game at 103-6.
When Lachlan was removed, the last three wickets fell quickly, leaving Thame two matches to save their Home Counties status.
