Banbury 2nd completed the double over their local rivals Banbury Twenty to stay within a point of the top.

Josh Megson’s opening burst reduced Twenty to 30-4 and he finished with 6-43 as the home side were all out for 136. Opener Barry Grant (39no) showed great patience to carry his bat.

Banbury cruised to 137-4, while Twenty were docked five points for failing to provide a scorer.

Abingdon Vale gained revenge for their defeat at Challow & Childrey in June by inflicting a six-wicket defeat on their local rivals.

Asked to bat Challow made a useful 177-9 thanks to Steve Burry (45no), Olly Dimbylow (35) and Nigel Hume (32), while Vale skipper Dan Hartley took 3-22 with his left arm seamers.

Will Barker then hit 52, James Boon 49 and Tom Bryan 43 as the hosts made light work of reaching 179-4.

Archie Leon was out only three runs short of his century as Aston Rowant 2nd made 211-9 from 51 overs at home to leaders Great Brickhill.

Tom Condon chipped in with 32 while Doug Aris took 3-68 for the visitors.

Brickhill were docked two points for their slow over rate but soon put that disappointment behind them as Anton De Beer hit a fine 109 and Graeme Carter struck 42 in their 213-3 for a seven-wicket win.

Aky Hussain was unbeaten on 56 when Wolverton Town were all out for 194 after being asked to bat at home to Long Marston.

The visitors prevailed in a tense finish, reaching 195-8.
