Horspath's hopes of posting a much-needed win were dashed by two outstanding individual performances from Farnham Royal's Daniel Simpson and Javed Khan as their Serious Cricket Home Counties Premier League Division 2 West clash ended in a draw.
Simpson smashed 124 as the visitors posted 273 all out after being put in to bat.
Khan then took 7-74 from 27 overs to restrict Horspath to 213-9, with last pair Mark Skelton and Paul Jeacock negotiating the final five overs to secure the draw.
Simpson, who survived three chances, hit 16 fours and five sixes in his century.
But for Farnham losing their last six wickets for ten runs, Horspath would have been facing an even bigger target.
Skipper Adam Krol was the inspiration behind the dramatic collapse, taking 4-4 in 15 balls to finish with 4-41.
Openers Jimmy Phillips and Robbie Eason got Horspath's reply off to a good start with 67 off the first 11 overs.
But the hosts were unable to build on this as Khan worked his way through the order.
