Tiddington 2nd became the first side to avoid defeat against Cublington in Division 5 of the Cherwell League, but were denied the chance to press for victory by rain.

Phil Manning (42) and Steve James (37) added 78 in ten overs for the seventh wicket in Tiddington’s 194-7.

Two rain delays curtailed the visitors’ reply to 33 overs, and they closed on 102-6.

Horspath 2nd closed the gap at the top to six points with a predictably easy win over Banbury Twenty 2nd.

Jack Biggs made an unbeaten 103 in Horspath’s 231-4 dec and Barry Grant’s 53 was not enough to prevent Twenty slipping to 153 all out.

Simon Pritchard (63) and Connor Morrison (42no) kept Didcot interested, but Keith Cartwright (4-59) did the same for Brackley and the hosts finished on 201-9.
