Steve Roberts took 5-67 to claim his 32nd wicket in the past five weeks for Oxford Downs 2nd in Cherwell League Division 3, but his side failed to clinch victory for the first time this season.

Bicester & North Oxford, who are yet to win on their travels, elected to bat and totalled 156-8.

Downs made hard work of the reply and appeared to be heading for defeat before Matty Watts (40no) saw them to 110-8 and safety.

Kingston Bagpuize returned to winning ways thanks to Damian Wiskin and a fine all-round performance from Matthew Warner.

Warner made 70 in the Kingston’s 227-8 and then joined forces with Wiskin (4-34) to take 3-28 as Ridge were rumbled for 138.

Hanborough fell even further behind at the bottom despite averting defeat for the first time in more than a month in their match against Bledlow Village.

Put in to bat, Bledlow made 194-7 thanks principally to Charlie Downs (57) and Adam Mould (44), the hosts falling short of victory on 105-5.

Witney Mills are on the crest of a slump after losing by seven wickets at Twyford.

Mills did not start too badly thanks to Will Sterio (40) before Bilal Afzal’s 4-34 reduced them to 152 all out.

Shahid Mahmood (76no) and Josh Goff (50no) saw Twyford to 155-3.

Twyford were docked one point for their slow over rate.

Cropredy were 87-2 with Mike Amos-Simpson on 33 not out and Joe Fox back in the pavilion with 30 when rain prevented any further play at Dinton 2nd.
