Patrice Guillois delivered the performance of the day as Windrush Valley staged the final amateur boxing tournament of the season in Oxfordshire at the Carterton Social Club.

The 16-year-old light flyweight emerged a unanimous winner on points after an intense and fast-paced encounter with Cardigan rival Davy Lewis.

Nathan Hall,12, delivered the first win of the afternoon for the host gym as he made full use of his height advantage to get the nod over Said Eltuyev from Swindon’s Walcot outfit.

Light middleweight Henry Daniels made an impressive start, but faded in the final session, enabling Downend rival Danny Milner to clinch the decision.

Jake L’Anson began briskly, but could not match the accuracy of Downend rival Sam Kissack and lost on points.

Despite imposing a count following two precise right hands in the final session, Tommy Lee-Connors, 14, was unlucky not to get the verdict over Walcot rival John Bolton.

There were mixed fortunes for the Abingdon Town contingent.

Middleweight Mark Cook claimed the sole win for the gym, outpointing High Wycombe’s Shiraz Khan after a frenetic battle.

Joe Kent, Lewis Beazley and Jack Vokkings all lost.
