Didcot Town has appointed Francis Vines as their new manager.

Vines, 49, has extensive managerial experience, which includes lifting the Southern League Premier Division title with Crawley Town in 2004.

He came within a point of achieving the same feat while in charge at Farnborough in 2009 and most recently, he had a spell in charge at Ryman League Premier Carshalton Athletic.

He succeeds Ady Williams who quit the Southern League South & West Division outfit last month to concentrate on a new career.

Vines said: “Didcot Town has great potential and I’m looking forward to achieving success during what I regard is an exciting project.”

Didcot chairman John Bailey said: “We’re a club that seeks stability at the top and hopefully Francis will provide that as we look to bounce back from the disappointment of relegation.

“He has an excellent track record and has achieved success at our level and above, and we hope that Didcot will be the next club to benefit from his talents.”
