Alan Hodgkinson admitted to being humbled by his recognition award.
Oxford United’s goakeeping coach received the award from main sponsors Bridle Insurance for his contribution to both the club and football in general.
“I have been in football for 57 years – I was playing before Elvis, The Beatles and Coronation Street came along,” he said.
“I am very humbled to receive this award, and while I have been to Wembley many times with different clubs over the years, I have to say that getting promoted there with Oxford United last year is one of my proudest moments.
Sue Trafford was left almost speechless after being given the club’s special achievement award.
Chairman Kelvin Thomas said of the programme seller: “She is a very special person, who has been through some tough times, but who will do anything to help to the club, for which we are extremely grateful.”
