Aston Rowant were left to hold out for a draw at Gerrards Cross after home batsman John Hughes smashed a brilliant 168.
Rowant’s attack was powerless as Hughes took Gerrards Cross to an imposing 290-8 off 59 overs, before the visitors replied with 210-9.
Tim Morgan went cheaply in Rowant’s reply, before Chris Watling and Adam Cossins repaired the damage only to both fall in quick succession to make it 77-3.
However, Archie Leon (33), Richard Cook, with a maiden league half-century, and skipper Wesley Morrick dug in and although there was a late flurry of wickets, Rowant held on for a draw.
