Oxford Hawks celebrated the opening of their two new pitches on Saturday.
The day included two games against Oxford High School and Magdalen College School, both contributors to the project.
These were followed by a training session for the club’s younger members.
England players Katie Long and Dilly Newton joined in and gave coaching tips to the youngsters.
The pitches were officially opened by Philip Kimberley, non-executive chairman of England Hockey Board.
Hawks men’s and ladies teams took on invitation sides full of top-class players.
The ladies game finished in a 2-2 draw while Hawks men lost 3-1 to a side that included Brett Garrard, who holds the record for the highest number of England and Great Britain caps.
