Chipping Norton’s Alice Powell crashed out in both rounds of the Formula Renault UK Championship at Thruxton.
It was unlucky for the 18-year-old, as she had shown good signs in qualifying in fifth and second for the two races.
Starting from fifth on the gride, Powell made her way up to third by lap two, only to come into contact with teammate Josh Hill, which sent her spinning off.
The second race saw Powell on the front row of the gride, but she made it only to the second corner before she was clipped by Pedro Pablo Calibimonte, ending her afternoon’s racing.
Powell said: “It was extremely disappointing, seeing as it was not my fault either time, but at least we showed good pace in qualifying.”
