The 2011 Summer League kicked off last Sunday at Ridgeway where the 20 matchmen caught some good weights, even though most of the fish were spawning.
Using meat down the margins, Martin Avons put 90.0.0 of carp on the scales to take the honours.
Phil Weston was second with 77.0.0 of carp. He used six pints of red maggots, first concentrating on mid-water and then under his feet.
Andy Pickett took third place with 45.2.0 of carp on pellet just of the front of his platform.
Conditions were spot-on for the 15 anglers fishing the fourth Predator Spring Carp League match at Butlers Hill.
Just four ounces split first and second place, Scott Miller (Predator) using a long pole and pellet to catch mainly carp for a winning 60.10.0.
He pipped Dave Clarke, who used meat in the margins for 60.6.0 of carp for second place.
Tony Wright (Predator) alternated between pellet and paste in the margins for 36.8.0 and third.
North Oxford were on the Oxford Canal at Yarnton Bridge and surprisingly the 11 members did not have a problem with boats as few were out.
Jason Bean triumphed with a net of skimmers, hybrids and perch worth 6.15.0. He used red maggot for the silver fish and worm for the perch.
Henry Clarke put in some groundbait and then fished pinkie over the top to tempt 3.15.0 of roach for second, tactics also used by Terry Whittington for his third-placed 1.9.0.
