Oxford United Reserves returned to the top of the Totesport.com Combination East Division after a 1-0 win at Luton Town.
Conditions were tough on a dry pitch at Barton Rovers, but United grabbed the points thanks to a late goal from Aaron Woodley.
United gave a game to Mamadou Danfa, who last played for Vasas Budapest in Hungary.
The triallist impressed up until the 55th minute when he took a knock and was replaced by 15-year-old Aiden Hawtin.
In contrast, 39-year-old youth team manager Chris Allen also got a run-out, coming off the bench to take over from striker Ryan Doble.
Both subs had a hand in the winning goal, which was put away by Woodley in the closing stages.
Oxford Utd Res: Eastwood, Alderman, Kinniburgh, Hanson, Hinchcliffe, Payne, Danfa (Hawtin), West, Woodley, Marsh, Doble (Allen).
