KATHERINE O’Connor went top of the Welsh Ladies’ Order of Merit after winning the Tenby Open.

The 21-year-old Tadmarton Heath member and Welsh international pipped Curtis Cup squad player Amy Boulden (Maesddu) by two shots in the 36-hole event.

O’Connor, the Oxfordshire ladies champion, carded a six-under-par 69 in her opening round, which featured nine birdies.

She then shot a second-round 76 to hold off Boulden, who carded a 73.

  • BURFORD battled back to earn a draw at The Oxfordshire in their Shaw Gibbs Oxfordshire Foursomes Lea-gue Division 1 clash.

The Oxfordshire’s first pair of Mark Shimmin and Dan Knight saw off Adam Salter and Donny Henderson-Sowerby 4&3 after carding birdies on holes five, seven and ten.

Gavin Rogerson and Jordan Garnish were 5-up after ten holes against Burford’s John Wilks and Bret Gaertner, who capitalised on some loose shots, winning four of the final five holes for a half.

Dave Summers and Simon Hopkins then pipped The Oxfordshire’s George Abbott and Alex Stubbs by two holes.

Eddie Pepperell, playing one of his final matches before turning pro, helped Drayton Park halve with Ellesborough.

Pepperell and Martin Rob-erts earned Drayton’s victory in match two, seeing off Steph Usher and Liam Collins 5&4.

Luke Richardson and Alex Wilkinson won the first match for Ellessborough, defeating Simon Berry and Graham Shirley by one hole.

Drayton’s Andy Griffiths and Andy Elmey halved the final encounter with Phil Cuthbert and Steph Williams.

In Section 3, Hadden Hill hammered Feldon Valley, who were formerly known as Brailes, 3-0.
