OXFORD City boss Mike Ford has warned his players not to take their foot of the pedal when they entertain title-chasing Salisbury City.

City are close to Premier Diviaion safety, but Ford insists they are still in the relegation battle with some key matches to come.

Ford said: “It’s a David versus Goliath contest, but I’ve told my players that we need to maintain our performance levels.

“I re-iterate, the relegation battle is not done and dusted.

“There’s a finishing line in sight, but results can still go against us. We have had to fight tooth and nail to get every point we’ve earned this year.”

Michael Lyon is suspended, while James Organ (hamstring) faces a late fitness test.

Defender James Clarke returns after missing last weekend’s defeat at Hednesford through illness.

Banbury United boss Billy Jeffrey reckons two more wins will see them to safety.

The Puritans have destiny in their own hands, following last Saturday’s crucial 2-0 victory over Bedford.

Banbury travel to Hemel Hempstead, and victory could see them pull nine points clear of the drop zone.

Jeffrey said: “Two wins from the last five is our minimum target, and the sooner we get those, the better.

“It’s another huge game for us, I’m just keeping my fingers crossed that everyone is fit.”

Banbury will give late tests to Delroy Gordon and Malachy Farquharson, while Jack Asthon returns from holiday.

Meanwhile, Jeffrey has signed young striker Will Green from Northampton Town on work experience.

Didcot Town, who slipped into the relegation zone after Weymouth’s midweek victory at Swindon Supermarine, face a crunch relegation clash at home to Tiverton Town.

Tiverton are just one place and two points below Ady Williams’s side.

Andy Gunn (hamstring) is doubtful, while Tiverton are set to field Ian Sampson, who played at Didcot last season.
