NO 8 Jamie Fredericks and wing Gareth Hudson grabbed try braces as Grove saw off Oxford 48-12 at Cane Lane.
Victory took Grove, who were missing Harry Carr, Joe Bellinger, Steve Dixey, Jimmy Wallbridge, Tom Clipsham and Jamie Burns, up to fourth, but their play-off prospects remain remote.
Centre Nick Sevier, fly half Roger Sevier, hooker Jon North and replacement flanker Guy Nicholl completed Grove’s try tally, Roger Sevier converting four.
Oxford battled well, with their tries coming from scrum half Jack Cousins, converted by full back Dom Coe, and prop Gary Walter.
