Bedford Tn 1 (Draycott 84)

Didcot Tn 1 (Lewis og 54)

Jack Randall, Didcot Town’s on-loan midfielder, suffered a broken leg in the draw at Bedford Town, which saw the Railwaymen return to the foot of the Premier Division.

The Aldershot Town player was involved in an innocuous collision in the final few minutes and had to be carried off. It later transpired that he had broken a leg – just months after recovering from a broken ankle.

Dave Lawrence wasted a couple of early chances for Didcot, but Bedford then got the upper hand.

Eddie Lawley’s header from a corner was cleared by Andy Gunn, while Jamie Heapy blocked Ian Draycott’s goalbound volley and keeper Sam Warrell tipped Emmanuel Richardson’s 25-yard drive over the bar.

Didcot broke the deadlock in the 54th minute when Heapy’s low cross was deflected off Callum Lewis for an own goal.

Ten minutes from time both sides had a player sent off.

Didcot’s Michael Alexis’s mistimed challenge sent Graham Clark sprawling, and after the pair squared up they were both shown a red card.

Bedford then equalised from a corner when Draycott turned the ball home from eight yards out.

Didcot nearly stole a winner when they hit a post.
