It's about time we had some good news about angling, so here are a couple of things to cheer you up.
First, the Environment Agency are proposing to keep your 2011-12 rod licence at £27 for adults, £5 for the under 16’s and £18 for over 65’s next year.
And Fisheries Minister Richard Benyon has announced a review of licensing for cormorant control at an Angling Summit, attended by 30 angling and fisheries organisations.
This announcement followed a letter sent to the Minister from the Angling Trust last November, calling for action to be taken to protect stillwaters and river fisheries which are suffering significant losses as a result of cormorant predation.
