North Leigh were left frustrated as fog forced the abandonment of their Zamaretto Southern League clash with Bridgwater Town when they were leading 5-0!

Referee Brian Durie took the players off after 76 minutes of the Division 1 South & West match at Eynsham Park as his assistants could no longer see across the pitch.

North Leigh scored their goals through through Andy Caton (2), Michael Hopkins, plus debutants Tom Franklin and Josh Dutton-Black, but may have to replay the game.

Abingdon United fought back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at Clevedon Town.

Clevedon led through Cameron Ricketts and Chas Hemmings, but goals from Graham Lewis either side of half-time earned a point.

Oxford City lost 3-0 at Cambridge City in the Premier Division.

City’s Felipe Barcelos and James Faulkner missed great early chances, but Cambridge struck through David Kolodynski on 20 and 85 minutes, plus Craig Hammond on 38.

Boss Mike Ford said: “The scoreline flattered them massively.”

Banbury United edged into the Oxfordshire Senior Cup semi-finals after Joe Coleman’s injury-time strike gave them a 1-0 victory over Bicester Town.

Goalkeepers Joe Murrell (Banbury) and Jeff Simmonds starred with some fine saves.
