Robins boss Mark Yates got his players back in the following day after the home defeat by Lincoln.

And he told the club’s website: “I’ve drawn a line under Tuesday and we know where we are as a group now.

“We were in to address that, but it’s more frustration than anything else.

“I have no problems with the boys because we just need to be better.

“I’ve had my moan and the players know my feelings, but we now just need to get into a run of form for the next few games.

“There’s nothing better than a local derby to put an end to what happened on Tuesday.

“Oxford are on a really good run of form and Chris (Wilder) is a top bloke.

“They have some really good players and they are steamrollering teams at the moment.

“It’s going to be a tough test but I want my players to take on board the information we give them and be better than they were on Tuesday night.”

Cheltenham’s front two are Wesley Thomas, who netted against Oxford earlier in the season and has hit 13 goals this term, and Jeff Goulding, who has nine.

Another striker, Phil Walsh, who is on loan from Dagenham & Redbridge, is pushing for his first start.
