At last, the weather has improved, so it is time to get back on our rivers with a real chance of banking some decent fish, although water levels may be pretty high this weekend.
When temperatures really drop, fish go into a dormant state. However, once things start to warm up they are looking for food to build up their energy levels.
I will be on the Kennet, so hopefully I’ll able to report some decent chub next week. I’ll be using hemp and maggot, as I don’t think pellets work quite so well in cold conditions.
