Oxfordshire twins Imogen and Edith Langford teamed up to win the girls doubles at the Badminton England under 15 bronze tournament in Kettering.

The sisters, who also picked up singles medals, defeated Ciara Linehan and Ellie Wainright, of Northants, 21-17 in the final.

Edith won bronze, losing 21-17 to Sarah Collins (Worcestershire) in the semis.

Imogen beat Kirsty Seal, of Leicestershire, in her semi 21-9, but then lost to Collins 21-10 to claim silver.

As a result of their achievements, both girls gained Badminton England bronze gradings.

At the same tournament, Oxfordshire’s Ben Egginton and Jordan Beardmore struck bronze in the boys’ doubles, losing out to Lorenzo Sacco and Dale Turner (Bedfordshire) 21-15 in the semi-finals.

A different bronze grade tournament in Surrey saw Oxon’s David Thomas win a boys’ doubles bronze medal with his partner Josh Surplice (Berkshire).

They lost 21-17 in the semis to the eventual winners, Jordan Adams and James Crouch of Sussex.

Oxfordshire’s Ibby Ahmed won a singles bronze medal at the Badminton England under 13 tournament in Warwick.

Ahmed lost 21-15 to James Yang (Leicestershire) in his semi-final, but then teamed up with Ben Jackson (Lancashire) to win boys’ doubles gold.

They beat Jay Chandara and Nick Twells of Leicestershire 21-19.

Oxon’s Louise Aitkins and Molly Naylor were also in the medals, picking up the bronze for doubles.

They lost to Natasha Killian and Nicola Potts of Warwick 21-8 in the semi-finals.

Other Oxfordshire success came to Julia Froud and Lucy Fisk, who won girls’ doubles silver at the under 17 bronze grade tournament in High Wycombe.

In the final, they lost 21-19 to Alicia Currie and Charlotte Wardle of Surrey, while Froud achieved her Badminton England bronze grading.
