Chinnor were sunk by a late penalty as they lost 17-16 at Redingensians, despite two tries from centre Huw Morgan.

Fly half Spike Chandler’s long-range kick sealed a match that had seen Chinnor battle back from 11-0 down at half-time.

Redingensians took the lead with a third-minute penalty from Chandler.

Showing plenty of aggression in the loose and dominating the scrum, the hosts went 8-0 up when they disrupted a Chinnor put-in.

The ball squirted out and flanker Azza Hopkins touched down.

Chandler slotted a second penalty just before half-time, but Chinnor then fought back.

Home hooker Nick Dewland and Chinnor prop Joe Winpenny were yellow-carded before Morgan ran in a 40-yard interception try.

Both sides wasted good chances before Chinnor centre Matt Goode kicked a penalty.

The visitors had skipper Matt Hutchings sin-binned, but a superb long-range try from Morgan made it 13-11.

A Chandler penalty was cancelled out by another from Goode, but Chandler had the final say.
