HEenley Hawks produced a lacklustre display in a 32-6 defeat at Clifton, who fielded former Bristol man Matt Salter at No 8.
Hawks led with a first-minute penalty from centre Danny Wells, whose second kick at goal reduced the arrears to 8-6 after a yellow card to Chris Ashwin.
Henley also saw No 8 Tom Stradwick sin-binned and trailed 15-6 at half-time.
Clifton’s tries came from wing Rob Viol, Salter, centre John Gadd and a penalty award, while Ashwin kicked 12 points.
