Oxford Hawks finished their 2010 Men's South League Premier Division 2 fixtures in style with a 10-1 thrashing of Barnes.

Table-topping Hawks started in confident fashion and within the first five minutes, Nick Ferraby started the rout.

The home side never allowed Barnes to settle and further goals from Dave Cresswell (2), man-of-the-match Freddie Coppin` and Ted Bennet made it 5-0 at half-time.

The second half went the same way as Barnes were never able to cope with Hawks’ speed and passion.

Cresswell and Ferraby completed their hat-tricks and further goals from Sam Chilvers and Coppin took the score into double figures.

With two minutes left, Barnes netted a consolation, but the day belonged to Hawks, who go into 2011 with a three-point lead over Lewes and Richmond at the top.

Banbury had to settle for a point against Milton Keynes after a 1-1 home draw in Premier A.

After a fortnight of inactivity, neither side created many opportunities.

Banbury started the game well, but it was the visitors who had the best early chances, Chris Boyle denying them with superb saves.

Following a great run from Australian Andy Phillpott, Will Powell slotted the ball home from close range to put Banbury 1-0 up. Milton Keynes eventually notched an equaliser when an uncharacteristic error from Matthew Bull led to Mark Davie making it 1-1.

Two controversial yellow cards turned City of Oxford’s MBB&O Regional 2 match at Amersham & Chalfont on its head.

City were leading 2-1 thanks to goal from Chris Knowles and Tom Small early in the second half, before they were reduced to ten men when yellow cards were shown for not retreating at free-kicks.

The home side took full advantage and romped to a 5-2 victory.

Witney got back into action in style as they won 10-1 away to Henley 2nd in Division 1.

Julian Easterbrook, Ben Wells and Chris Partridge all netted early on to put the visitors firmly in command.

Solid work from the defence, well marshalled by Simon Sparks, restricted Henley to only sporadic opportunities but they did manage to get themselves on the scoresheet from a short corner.

Witney responded well however, with a stunning solo effort from man-of-the-match Tim Hardy restoring the three goal lead to make it 4-1 at half time.

The second half was one-way traffic as goals from Easterbrook, Hardy, Richard Demczak (2) and Wells (2) completed the rout to keep Witney firmly in contention for promotion.
