Headington Roadrunners’ women had a sensational afternoon at Stowe School in round three of the Chiltern League.

They won both senior and veteran events and are now seeking league titles in each category.

The return of Jude Craft and Diane Moore made the difference.

Helen Barnes took third place, Craft eighth and Moore 14th as Headington claimed the team event by 12 points, and the veterans’ by 11.

John Atyeo’s 25th-placed finish in the senior men’s race – he was second in the men’s Vet 40 category – helped Oxford City top the veteran men’s teams, ahead of second-placed Headington Roadrunners.

John Exley was 1st Vet 60 in 33mins 53secs for 112th place.

Oxford City’s Melissa Haw-tin, Lauren Hawtin, Jade Walker and Rebecca Byren topped the Junior/Under 17 women’s team table, finishing five points in front of Marshall Milton Keynes.

Melissa Hawtin finished third overall, but the first Under 20 woman. Her younger sister Lauren was fourth overall and third Under 17 woman.
