Westbury were the toast of the OCA League as they picked up the Division 1 League Challenge Bowl and Airey Cup as the annual presentation evening at Drayton Park Golf Club near Abingdon.

Former Lancashire and England batsman Graeme Fowler entertained more than 150 people in the audience with some amusing anecdotes from his 17-year professional career.

Westbury captain Richard Tredwell collected the two trophies, with Tom Wilson picking up his man-of-the-match trophy for his match-winning innings in the Airey Cup final.

Division 2 champions Minster Lovell were out in force to collect their trophy, skipper Andy Crawford taking home the silverware, while Stonesfield’s Jamie Burns lifted the Division 3 Challenge Cup.

Chadlington were another side to pick up a double, their captain Mark Lambert collecting the Ward & Allen Cup as Division 4 champions and also the Telegraph Cup.

Division 5 champions were Kennington, their skipper CK Patel picking up the Wyfold Challenge Cup, while Swinbrook’s Joel Graham collected the Hanborough Cup as Division 6 champions and the Steve Dixon Memorial Cup.

The biggest cheer of the night came for Division 10 champions Chesterton 2nd.

Perennial whipping boys, Chesterton won a trophy for the first time, lifting the Witney Cup as champions.

Combe’s Robbie Nicholson was named young player of the season after scoring 1,035 runs and taking 30 wickets.

Kilkenny’s Duncan Macdonald collected both the Hawthorn Trophy for batting and the Boyd-Maunsell Cup for bowling after scoring 1,060 runs at an average of 106 and taking 35 wickets.

Charlbury’s Paul Faullkner collected the Morris Honey award in recognition of the improvements made to their ground following the floods of 2007.

The club’s new pavilion was officially opened in the summer.

Minster Lovell won the Haw-thorn Trophy for sportsmanship.
