Abingdon Gymnastics Club’s Ben Goodall took on the best young gymnasts in the South at the regional full apparatus competition in Southampton – and won.
Goodall struck gold in the under 12 age group vault with a great handspring full twist.
Clubmate Jack Hodgkins had a good competition, but just missed a few of the difficult moves needed to challenge for the medals.
In the under 10 category, Nathan Sutton finished 27th in a highly competitive field.
Max Webb was 16th and William Thomson 17th in the under 8 age group – which they competed in for the first time.
