Chinnor need to up the ante on the road, starting with tomorrow’s trip to Weston-Super-Mare in National 3 South West.

That is the view of head coach Jason Bowers, who is looking for his players to step up a gear.

“The challenge is produce our home form away from Kingsey Road,” said Bowers.

“We have been pretty good at home, winning all our games, but we have only won once away.

“Weston are a really good at home with a very strong pack.

“The lads will know they have been in a masssive challenge.”

Chinnor’s only change sees captain Matt Hutchings return at lock after missing the 38-15 victory over Cheltenham due to a school trip, so Alex Fan gets another chance to impress at No 8.

Of that game, Bowers added: “To get a bonus-point win at any time is fantastic. It was really encouraging.

Oxford Harlequins director of rugby John Brodley has a series of injuries to assess ahead of their home game with second-placed Old Patesians.

Scrum half Alasdair Maspero (shoulder), fly half Jeff Stewart (groin) and wing Andy Noyce (hamstring) are the major doubts as Quins seek their first home win of the season.

Brodley said: “We know Old Pats are a very strong all-round side both last year and this year.

“We have to be on top of our game and not give away any soft tries if we are to have a chance against them.”

James Gaunt replaces Kenny Sewell at scrum half as Henley Hawks host Worthing Raiders in National 2 South.

Hawks will start with the side that finished last week’s 13-7 victory at Shelford, while full back James Comben returns as a replacement after an ear injury.

Both sides have won six matches and lost two so far in what is proving a very competitve start to the season at the top of the table.

Improving Wallingford host High Wycombe in South West 1 East, looking to build on two successive victories.

Director of rugby Martin Moran looks set to name an unchanged side from that which won 28-24 at Reading Abbey.

Witney too should field the same 18 for their trip to Bletchley.

A big victory could see them return to the top of the table.

Banbury Bulls will need to produce their best performance of the season if they are to beat third-placed Old Halesonians in Midlands 1 West.

Grant Holmes’s side remain eight points adrift of safety, so cannot afford another long losing streak.
