In the shadow of Wormwood Scrubs prison, Oxford Hawks ran amok with six different goalscorers as they won 6-4 away to PHC Chiswick.

It was an impressive Premier Division 2 win at the Linford Christie sports ground, with Hawks’ Ted Bennett man of the match.

Chiswick took the lead, but the Oxford side then hit a purple patch with four answered goals, from Tim Martin, Tom Coppin, Freddie Coppin and Nick Ferraby.

By now, Hawks’ season had really started.

But the second half didn’t go to plan and Chiswick clawed their way back with two goals.

However, Hawks showed their mettle and a penalty flick roofed by Dave Cresswell, after Bennett was impeded in the D, calmed the nerves.

Jamie Franklin’s composed finish at a one-on-one extended the visitors’ lead, with Chiswick pulling a further goal back before the finish.
