AFC Totton 3 (Davies 38, 45, Gosney 89)

North Leigh 1 (Taylor 5)

Matt Taylor’s early strike was in vain as North Leigh fell to defeat at Totton in Division 1 South & West.

With five minutes gone, a defence-splitting pass from Kieran Sanders sent Taylor clear to finish with a strike beyond Totton keeper James Lester.

It was almost 2-0 as Lester made a superb save to deny Andy McCabe.

Adam Lonsdale blocked Stefan Brown’s point-blank strike before Totton drew level as Jonathan Davies cut inside from the right to drill home.

On the stroke of half-time, the visitors fell behind as a Michael Gosney free-kick ricocheted through a sea of legs for Davies to lash home from six yards.

In the second half, George Redknap headed off the line and Gosney shot wide, while at the other end, Stuart Hole was denied by Lester.

With time running out, Hole’s free-kick went just over the bar.

Totton rubbed salt into North Leigh’s wounds in the last minute as Gosney struck home.

North Leigh: Lonsdale, Redknap, Caton, Clark (Saunders 80), Hole, Dodds, Burnell (Bowles 62), Posey, Taylor, McCabe, Sanders.
