Oxford City’s frustrations continued last night with a goalless draw at home to fellow Premier Division strugglers Halesowen Town.

City had the better of the match and created more chances, but all too often the final ball was missing.

Mark Janes shot wide early on, while Halesowen keeper Dean Coleman parried an Ashley Kington effort, but the rebound was cleared before Wayne Blossom could shoot.

Andy Ballard went close with a header from Kington’s corner, but City’s Liam Malone had to make a key interception at the other end to deny Lee Osbourne.

The deadlock continued, and City keeper Paul Davis was rarely troubled.

Didcot Town crashed 4-1 at home to Swindon Supermarine, for whom Jamie Gosling grabbed a stunning hat-trick.

The hosts took an early lead thanks to Morgan Williams’s fine solo goal, but Gosling equalised on 35 minutes.

Three goals in nine second-half minutes sunk Didcot, Gosling bagging the first two on 60 and 67 minutes.

Ashan Holgate fired in a fourth after 69 minutes to complete a miserable night for the Railwaymen.

Abingdon United put in an improved display despite losing 1-0 at home to Sholing in Division 1 South & West.

Tyronne Bowers won it for Sholing with a 20-yard free-kick in the 50th minute.

But Abingdon almost equalised with the final kick when Tom Melledew crashed a shot against the crossbar.

Melledew also hit a post on 20 minutes, while keeper Jon Beames had to make two key saves for the hosts.
