Mark Baker scored a hat-trick as Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division high-fliers Kidlington saw off Headington in a high-scoring first round tie on Saturday.

Headington, with 100 per cent record at the top of Division 1 West, soon trailed to a goal from Chris Weedon.

However, they equalised when Neil Lockhart struck home an unstoppable free-kick.

Kidlington regained the lead right on half-time when Baker hit home the rebound after Jack Quainton had struck the bar.

Luke Cuff missed two chances to equalise, before Baker put the tie out of their reach with two goals to complete his treble Jimmy Deabill added a fifth near the end, but Headington were rewarded for their industry when Lockhart netted his second two minutes from time.

Ardley United 2 (Wickens 14, Stidder 80)

The clash between the leaders of Hellenic League Division 1 East and the Premier Division, went by the formbook, with Ardley running the show.

Once Ardley had adapted to the narrow pitch, they put continual pressure on the home side, with Lewis Travers causing havoc down the left flank.

It was one his crosses that brought about the first goal for Gary Wickens.

Play was stopped for a long period in the second half when Dean Smith had to be stret-chered off after a late tackle.

The game was eventually put to bed when substitute Andrew Stidder volleyed home a header down from Adam Garner following a free-kick.

Freeland 1 (Hambridge 14)

Clanfield 3 (Mays 10, 23, 25)

A Quickfire hat-trick by Dean Mays saw Clanfield ease their way past their Oxfordshire Senior League opponents The Robins were ahead in the tenth minute through Mays, but this lead was short-lived when Matty Hambridge swept the ball home to equalise.

Mays regained the lead for the visitors in the 23rd minute and completed his hat-trick two minutes later to see Clanfield to the second round.
