BANBURY Borough’s Mark Sykes regained his Oxfordshire Bowling Association’s Champion of Champions crown with a 21-10 win over Banbury Central’s Geor-ge Schwab at Oxford City & County.

Sykes, the winner in 2008 and runner-up to Shiplake Village’s Barry Lambourne 12 months ago, was in terrific form over the two days.

He brushed aside Carterton’s Paul Sharman 21-12 in Sunday’s semi-finals where Schwab defeated defending champion Lambourne 21-15.

Sykes had been unstoppable as he raced through the first three rounds on Saturday.

He opened up with a 21-4 drubbing of Rover Cowley’s Lloyd Vaughan, and then swept aside Watlington’s Chris Gilkes 21-6, before despatching Bicester’s Kevin Taylor 21-7 in the last eight.
