Mark Druce scored twice as Saxton Rovers maintained their perfect start to their North Berks League Division 1 campaign with a 5-0 win over Drayton, writes Phil Annets.

Saxton’s scoring was completed by Adam Bailey, Benny Sutton and an own goal.

Wootton & Dry Sandford also made it two wins out of two with a 1-0 victory at Didcot Casuals, courtesy of Dave Humphrey’s fifth-minute penalty.

AFC Wallingford opened their account, defeating Kint-bury Rangers 4-2 at home.

Bradley Fraser scored twice, with Ian Henry and Mitchell Parker grabbing one apiece for Wallingford.

Craig Williams and Scott Bowers replied for Kintbury.

In Division 2, Alex Small-shaw got Benson Lions season off to a flying start with a goal after just 22 seconds in their 2-1 home win over Sax-ton Rovers Res. Liam Wil-kinson added the second.

Andy Potter netted another brace as Botley United triumphed 6-2 at Bampton Town.

Chris Potter, Shaun Weston, Mark Simms and Danny Wise also scored, while Dan Oyston and Nathan Beckett registered for Bampton.

Doubles for Chris Roberts and Nick Skiller ensured Benson AFC stayed on maximum points, winning 5-1 at home to newly-promoted Hanney United. Rob Lyons added the fifth.

Long Wittenham Athletic bounced back from their heavy opening day defeat by winning 4-2 at East Hendred.

Andy Cooper netted twice alongside Dan Osbourne and Chris Stephenson, while Lee Hedges and Jamie Dutton scored for Hendred.

In Division 3, Coleshill United raced to an emphatic 6-0 win at Drayton Res.

Adam Brooks, Mike Golan, Dan Broadbank, Kevin Coles, Dan Bellinger and James Head did the damage.

A Martyn Hathaway double could not stop Faringdon Town Res going down 3-2 at Sutton Courtenay, who scored through Adam Foster, Danny Cox and Ryan Johnson.

Berinsfield secured a third successive victory in Division 4, this time winning 3-1 at Coleshill United Res.

Steve Martison, Laurence Rawlings and a Mark Ingram penalty secured the points, with James Glock responding for the home side.

Charles Jamieson’s hat-trick ensured Harwell Village Res join Berinsfield on maximum points after their 5-2 home win over Challow United.

Steve Hedges and Lee Zabicky scored the other two, with Jake Bonner and Jake Iley replying.

East Hendred Res drew 3-3 at Long Wittenham Athletic Res.

Nathan Wright, Craig Healey and Ash Simmons scored for Hendred, with Wittenham goals coming from a Gareth Herniman double and a Colin Haynes strike.

Radley United’s introduction to the league ended in a 4-1 defeat at Harwell Inter-national Res.

Mark Nicholl scored Radley’s first goal in the league, but Aaron Gray netted twice alongside Stuart Smith and John Robinson for the home side.

It appears that life in Division 5 will be no easier for relegated Appleton Stars as they were thrashed 13-0 at home to Marcham Res in their opening game.

Wes Coster grabbed four goals, with Matt Thomas, Mike Allen-Bloomfield, Adrian Green, Lewis Wilson, Tommy Cousins, Craig Dredge, Leighton Jackson, Cameron Thomas and Matt Hall completing the rout.

Hanney United Res defeated Faringdon Town B 2-0 thanks to goals from Chris Anson and Nick Lynch.

Luke Ambler’s goal saw Hagbourne United beat Did-cot Casuals A 1-0.
