Defending Witney & District FA Premier Division champions Hailey got off to a winning start as they edged past Spartan Rangers 3-2 on Saturday, writes Anthony Barlow.

Jonathan Reeves netted twice for the visitors, but a brace from Joe Fullerton and a strike from Dave Brown gave Hailey the points.

Ducklington made it two wins from two games as they beat Kingham AB 2-1.

They had to come from behind after Ian Barth-olomew put Kingham in front.

But goals from Harry Burnley and Harry Clarke saw Ducklington to victory.

Witney Royals thumped Wychwood Forest 4-0 as Chris Catchpole, Steve Bras-ier, Alex Coleman and Jack Kennedy found the net.

That condemned Wych-wood Forest to a second defeat.

New boys AC Finstock are finding it hard going in the Premier Division, losing 3-1 to Hanborough.

Aston Leach netted a double and Craig Johnstone hit the third for Hanborough. Garry McKinnon replied.

In Division 2, Ducklington A won their second match with a 2-1 success over Charl-bury Res.

Jason Hirshfield and Mark Hawkins scored their goals, with John Potts replying.

David Weetman hit a hat-trick as Hailey Res beat Spartan Rangers Res 5-3 in an eight-goal thriller.

Josh Lock added a brace, with Steven White (2) and Matt Townsend replying.

Witney Royals Res are still without a point after going down 3-2 to Middle Barton.

Nick Pickup hit a brace with George Wood adding a third.

Royals hit back through Dan Hall and an Antony Williams screamer, but it was not quite enough.

Stanton Harcourt opened their Division 2 account with a 1-1 draw away to Two Rivers.

Stanton took the lead through Tom Gerken, but were pegged back after half-time by Lee Butler.

Wootton narrowly lost 3-2 to Carterton, with Tom Will-iams and Russell Bracey’s goals not quite enough.

Milton beat Southrop 2-0, Jim Littlewood and Kevin Robbins with the goals.

West Witney Res are the early leaders of Division 3 after a 3-2 victory over Kingham AB Res.

Adam Bolley (2) and Chris Beechy were on the mark, with Ashley Thornton and Luke Hubberd replying.

Witney Royals A were left to rue missed chances as they went down 2-1 to Chipping Norton Town Res.

A goal in each half for Fraser Duffield clinched the win for Chippy, despite Ali Dorward’s late strike for Royals.

Tackley lost 3-2 to North Leigh B. Matty Emptage and Oscar Triggs netted for Tackley, but they were outgunned as North Leigh scored through Harry Adams, Arrun Clibbon and Jamie Buxton.

Wychwood Forest Res beat Eynsham A 5-2 in Division 4. Matt Hubbard (2), Matt Johnson, David Anstee and Keith Webb scored for Wychwood, with Oliver Page replying.
