New signing Danny Philiskirk scored on his debut as he helped Oxford United to a 3-0 win at Banbury United on Monday night.

Sam Deering and Mitchell Cole also netted in the U’s pre-season finale.

Deering fired in the 15th-minute opener from 18 yards after Philliskirk picked him out.

Banbury were unlucky not to level, but David Staff’s effort hit the bar.

Four minutes later, Cole doubled United’s lead from the penalty spot after Deering was fouled by Callum Burgess.

Philliskirk then lashed home United’s third from Cole’s cut-back to seal victory.
