KIDLINGTON held their Annual Outing Shield at Lodge Farm, which was fished by 12 anglers and won in style by Jason Bean, who put 152.3.0 of carp on the scales.

He fished a pole to the island and caught on pellet, paste and meat.

Predator’s Tony Wright snatched second place with 38.14.0 of carp, also caught on the pole with pellet and paste.

He pipped Craig Partridge, who took third with 37.6.0 of carp, on pellet.

Beehive AC fished their Pairs Cup on a windswept Panshill specimen lake and it proved a match of two halves – the pegs which had some breeze fished well, the others in the calm water didn’t.

Chris Dingle took advantage of the wind to put 45.15.0 on the scales, including a common carp of 14.7.0 on pole and paste.

Second was Tim Whitewood with 28.9.0, which also included a 14lb mirror to pole and pellet, followed by Steve Ferris with 24.12.0 on the method.

Pairs Cup winners were Chris Dingle and Steve Ferris.

Ten members fished Oxford Waltonian’s Coronation Cup on a very low Thame at Wheatley Bridge.

Paul Bowers was a clear winner with four chub, the best going 4.12.0, for 17.9.0 on pole and chopped worm.

Mick Baston finished runner-up with 7.10.0 of chub and bits on pole and caster, followed by Tony Gee (Acorn Angling) with 4.10.0, comprising a chub of 3.8.0, plus bits on pole with maggot.

Eleven anglers fished Mar-ston’s President’s Cup on a Cherwell which had suffered a some tree damage caused by Saturday’s high winds.

Using a short pole with punch, Graham Bradshaw put together a net of small silver fish to win with 12.12.0.

Anthony Tompkins fished maggot for a net of roach, skimmers and perch worth a second-placed 9.8.0, pipping Steve Tompkins, who fished maggot and caught silver fish for 8.13.0 and third.

There was a good turn-out of 17 for the Kinloch AC match at Gillman’s Lake, next to Ridgeway at South Cerney.

Derek Pumfrey triumphed with 12.8.0, including a 10lb carp, on pole and paste.

Dean Bowerman caught tench and small roach on maggot or pellet for 9.10.0 and second, followed by Fred Harrison with 8.10.0 of carp, tench and bits on pellet and paste.

Oxford Bus AC fished their School Waters on the Cherwell, where the five matchmen found the river looking good.

Using pole with maggot or chopped worm, Pete Clark was the winner with 11.11.0 of roach, perch and skimmers.

Nick Rumble had a net of roach, perch and a tench for a second-placed 5.15.0 on pole with worm, letting the bait drift under a far-bank tree.

Terry Yates caught a few perch and roach on worm and maggot for 1.2.0, but was plagued by crayfish.

After his previous week’s third place, Martin MacDonald took the honours in the Jolly Anglers’ Berks/Oxon Wallingford Cup fished by 13 on the Thames at Fairmile.

He fished waggler and maggot before switching to maggot-feeder to catch roach and skimmers for 8.11.0.

Bill Davis was second with 8.10.12, just missing out on top spot. He had a 3.8.0 bream on maggot-feeder and some quality roach on the waggler.

Joint third were Anthony Brooker and Frank Butler with 6.7.0.

Both fished pole and maggot, catching small roach, skimmers and chublets, but Frank also banked a perch of 1.5.0.

Yarnton turned up with ten anglers for their latest match on the Thames at Cassington,which had very little flow.

Andy Gardner won for the first time with 6.1.0, made up mainly of a 5lb bream. Nick Collier was second with 4.12.0 of bits and third with 3.9.0 was Jason Jones.
